Golfer’s Elbow is a condition that causes pain on the inner side of the elbow due to overuse of the forearm muscles and tendons. At Sukumvit Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Center, we provide evidence-based rehabilitation programs to relieve pain, restore strength, and prevent recurrence. Although commonly associated with golf, this condition can affect anyone who performs repetitive gripping, lifting, or wrist movements.
Golfer’s Elbow, medically known as Medial Epicondylitis, occurs when the tendons that attach the forearm muscles to the inner part of the elbow become irritated or develop micro-tears due to repetitive strain.
Over time, tendon overload can lead to pain, weakness, and reduced arm function.
Patients with Golfer’s Elbow may experience:
• Pain or tenderness on the inner side of the elbow
• Pain that worsens with gripping or lifting
• Weak grip strength
• Discomfort when flexing the wrist
• Pain when shaking hands
• Numbness or tingling (in some cases) extending toward the ring and little fingers
Symptoms may develop gradually and worsen with continued activity.
• Repetitive wrist flexion movements
• Frequent gripping activities
• Golf or racquet sports
• Weight training with improper technique
• Manual labor work
• Repetitive use of tools
• Prolonged computer or mouse use
• Golfers and athletes
• Gym enthusiasts
• Manual workers (carpenters, mechanics, technicians)
• Office workers with repetitive hand use
• Individuals aged 30–50 years
If left untreated, Golfer’s Elbow may lead to:
• Chronic tendon degeneration
• Persistent elbow pain
• Reduced strength and endurance
• Functional limitations in daily tasks
• Longer recovery time
Early physiotherapy improves tendon healing and prevents long-term complications.
Consult our physiotherapy team if you experience:
• Persistent inner elbow pain
• Weak grip strength
• Pain affecting work or sports performance
• Symptoms lasting more than 1–2 weeks
• Numbness or tingling in the forearm or fingers
